Columbus, Ohio – Adopt a Highway Maintenance Corporation® (AHMC) is proud to announce its new partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) on the Ohio Sponsor a Highway program. With this new program, businesses and companies in Ohio can contribute to ODOT’s highway beautification efforts by funding litter removal services along roadways.

As of last week, sponsorship signs have been installed along portions of Ohio’s highways and litter removal has already begun. Levin Furniture LLC. has made a significant sponsorship commitment for roadways concentrated around the Cleveland area.

“We at AHMC are so proud to announce our partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation and assist in their highway beautification efforts,” said Patricia Nelson, AHMC President. “This program comes at no cost to the state and will give companies in Ohio an additional opportunity to make a positive contribution to their community.”

Through the Ohio Sponsor a Highway program, businesses can fund one-mile, one-direction portions of state highways for regular cleanings. To recognize their contribution, every partner of the program receives a personalized sign alongside their sponsored portion of the highway to be viewed by thousands of commuters.

“The Ohio program provides businesses with great visibility in their communities through the funding of essential services,” said Robert Davis, National Director of Sales and Marketing for AHMC. “Sponsoring a highway also gives companies the benefits that come with corporate social responsibility, as well as quantifiable contributions toward vital sustainability reporting.”

Over the past three decades, the Adopt a Highway Maintenance Corporation® has helped to facilitate highway cleanup efforts across the United States.  In 2021, AHMC’s team of maintenance supervisors removed 1,352,000 pounds of litter along highways across the country.
