Piedmont Newnan Hospital, a nonprofit organization, serves as the cornerstone of wellness in Coweta County. Their purpose is to make a positive difference in every life they touch. A 136-bed acute-care hospital in Coweta County, they offer 24-hour emergency services, are home to a level III neonatal intensive care unit and boast a number of national accreditations for treatment of heart attacks, sleep disorders, strokes and more.
Piedmont Newnan offers high-quality, patient-centered cancer care close to home. A certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network® and accredited by the Commission on Cancer, Piedmont Newnan specializes in cancer care and offers an interdisciplinary approach that allows for more personalized treatment with the guidance of specially-trained nurse navigators. Because cancer treatment involves more than medical care, free services and programs such as yoga, cooking demonstrations, expressive art classes, and counseling are available to anyone affected by cancer at any phase in his or her journey through Cancer Wellness at Piedmont.
The hospital employs more than 1,100 people, and over 400 physicians practice medicine at Piedmont Newnan.
As a not-for-profit hospital, they reinvest dollars earned to improve the health and well-being of their community members. Since 2007, the hospital has generated $1 billion in local and state economy revenue while providing nearly $79 million in uncompensated care. Some ways they give back to the local community include community benefit grants, healthy living programs such as Walk with a Doc, free programs and services through cancer wellness, financial navigation, and free or reduced-cost health screenings.
Newly added to this list of community support is joining the Adopt A Highway® program. We are pleased to announce the sponsorship of 6 new signs along Route 85 through Coweta County. Piedmont Newnan continues to support the community with healthy living.
Known for its eye-catching and environmentally conscious design, Piedmont Newnan is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified and has been awarded a Design Citation by Modern Healthcare for design excellence, functional utility, flexibility, and sustainability. The state-of-the-art design of this hospital, a 362,376-square-foot facility with nine total floors, is designed to improve patient access and wayfinding; provide flexibility for changing clinical, technology, and community needs; increase operational efficiency; and accommodate future growth.
