In Clark County, Nevada, officials are happy to have the help of Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation® to keep their roadways clean. While the Nevada Department of Transportation utilizes crews for sweeping along the I-15 and other major highways, litter build up is still an issue. Without the assistance of sponsors such as Zappos and The Red Rock Moose Lodge 252, litter removal upkeep would be a daunting and almost impossible feat for Clark County and the rest of Southern Nevada.
Zappos is the largest sponsor in the country. Their sponsorship of Nevada’s highways is a great benefit. Now with Reno accepting sponsorships, businesses like BOOMTOWN Casino and Hotel, AmCheck, Wild West Gaming, and Republic Services, are all doing their part in helping the Department of Transportation in its quest to keep the busy I-15 and tourist hotspots of Nevada clean.
Clark County has the arduous task of keeping hundreds of miles clean and presentable for tourists who drive in on I-15. Litter piles up from passing motorists as well as due to the dust storms that can occur in the desert wind. AHMC strives to safely maintain these roads while adhering to weather reports and avoiding flash flooding, extreme temperatures and other hazards. While the Nevada Department of Transportation sweeps daily and has its own crews maintain the roads in Las Vegas and the surrounding cities, the Nevada Sponsor A Highway® Program is responsible for the highway miles on I-15, Route 80, Route 95 and Route 515, to name a few. In addition, there is availability for businesses to sponsor ramps throughout the Las Vegas metro area. Ramps are filled with gravel and dirt that may accumulate litter from debris that falls onto the highways from abandoned vehicles. This is another excellent reason to look into sponsoring ramps and more throughout Nevada. Small businesses can help sustain the maintenance and support their community by doing so.
We are glad to see the participation of these companies with the Nevada Sponsor A Highway® Program and look forward to their continued support to maintain their communities’ roadways.
